![]() I was wondering if there's something out there that would be a good replacement for Download Station. The reason for a remote download manager? I don't like maxing out my laptops wireless leaving me no bandwidth to surf. Pasting a random URL into the "get this thing" box is so nice. I mean, yes, using screen + wget on a Linux machine would get the job done, but. I've used the deluge web interface a few times in the past for bit-torrent, but I need something for normal web access. ![]() I even think it supports downloading things via news groups (not something I do anymore.) It's a web front-end for all sorts of downloadable things: standard web downloads, bit-torrents, etc. Of all the features that the NAS offers that I don't know how to replace is this software application called Download Station. ![]() ![]() I'm currently having issues with my Synology NAS and I'm contemplating replacing it with a "homebrew" NAS replacement. TL/DR: I'm looking for a Linux-y/Web-y download manager like Synology's Download Station that works in a non-Synology environment. ![]()
